Most of us know who Angelo is. He was probably one of the oldest working vibes players in the world. There are a whole bunch of videos up here I think of him playing, it's not there on YouTube.

He was a really nice guy, totally into the Vibraphone, and that age 93 was working 3 to 5 days a week.

So it's pretty sad to report that Angelo died last night, but he did have a really long and active life!

Sorry to hear this, and I've been wondering as well how he had been doing. Wishing him safe passage.

Yeah I'm really sad that he left. Though I'm sure he had a great life, and yes he played the vibes sooooo long and so late. This is cool. And I'm glad that at least we could get the info quick. We had lost track of him for a while and wouldn't have liked to learn his passing long after: he was our "doyen"!

When he joined the site a few years ago, we exchanged a few emails. He was like a passionate young vibe geek! A true example for us all. I also remember that email he sent me with the incredible story of his first and last journey to France: during WWII as a soldier. With beautiful human stories. Wow...

Just one last little "detail": at the time Angelo was leaving us, my 40 yo cousin was having her dream coming true: getting her first baby to be born, after long battles to have him finally come to this world.

Here to these two boys: Angelo, and Miloé. Life goes on, but we'll keep Angelo in our heart too.

Sorry to hear that he has passed on. Angelo was also in contact with me via email for awhile, what a great gentleman and willing helper he was. His videos were always pleasant and professional. I remember one where Mike Pinto sat in with him and he let Mike have all the solos he wanted. Very generous Angelo was.
