Hello all,
I'm trying to find out if it is better for vibraphones to travel assembled or to be broken down every night for transportation?
For the past 3 1/2 years my vibes have been traveling fully assembled in a custom case, in…
I was working on some concepts Tony showed me in a lesson, specificly using the half whole scale in the V chord of a II V I. Recorded a drum track and put the vibes over it, just working on soloing over solar.
I was practicing rhythm changes today and thought my stuff sounded stale. So I put on the mallet kat made a sound I dug and now my stuff sounds hip!!! (at least to me!)
Can you hear the form? With no accompaniment you get to stretch things…
When I first heard the Steps Ahead album back in the eighties I was floored. Mike took the vibes into brand new territory! I'm a huge fan and today is his birthday so why don't all us VW cats wish him happy birthday.
For those interested in gig bags for your vibraphone, here's some info.......In 2007, I had Peter at the Mooradian Co., Boston, MA, make custom bags for the Musser M55. I provided the dimensions. One bag, with a padded divider, carries…

Corey is a member here, though he has a slightly different approach on vibes and on music than most of us. I think he's a great vibes player and person, with a true passion for the instrument like all of us.
He recently decided to sell…

Hello guys,
I started to work on the solo lessons yesterday and I was watching some youtube videos from Marie's post on "listen first" (http://www.vibesworkshop.com/video/totm-art-solo-vibes-listen-first/mar…) and I accidentally saw this…
Beautiful!
This is how started my day... Could have been worth, huh?
I only truly recognized the tune around the end, but it's even better I think. I love the "shadowed" intro, the feeling all through the piece, the loneliness and…
This clip is from a gig last January playing Ted's composition Ida Spoons which is based on Stella. The cameraman missed the head and part of Ted's solo which is a shame. Ted is composer/saxophonist with Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra…
