Hey all!
I'm sharing a video recording from a live session back in December 2025 featuring my new Nonet project. It features myself on vibraphone and the Colombian marimba de chonta, alongside some outstanding players including Alex Pastrana (piano), Armando Quiñones (percussion) and Ari Hoenig (drums) - full personnel below!
This is an original composition based on cycles in nature. Set to the rhythm of Currulao, this arrangement is heavily influenced by Colombia's música del Pacífico, in particular the rhythmic language of the marimba de chonta and the cununo (the conga-like drum).
Give a listen and let me know what you think!
