Flamenco Sketches Etude - Pt. 2 - Etude Concept by Tony Miceli
Marcel posted this exercise in a comment to barryk.
I thought I would turn it into the EOTM!
here's marcel's comment:
------------------------------------
I often look into exercises of rudimental or technical snare drum books to aply to the notes and caracteristics of vibraphone in different ways. This last days I took one to practice combination of simple and double strokes and I think that works very well to practice C major (or any mode with the same notes!).
David talked at the Delaware 2011 workshop about the time when he wanted to work on wide intervals... So he grabbed paper and would just write anything on paper and then play this etude. Just dots, and then he'd make the rhythms on the fly.
I thought we'd quickly post some of what we're working on. We went through this sheet of voicings. David gave a great talk on them and everyone had to learn them and play part of this. The jpg's are attached. We shot them with his camera.
Here's the new Etude for this month: is based on the harmony of Bach C Prelude.
Make sure the melody flows without interruption between bars: pay attention to the pedal.

Intro idea
Csus- Ebsus- Gminor7- C7b9- Fmajor7- D7b9- Gminor7- C7b9
在鐵琴上有時比較不好打,因為音域的問題,但是你可以去試著找找聲音,Sus和弦很適合在鐵琴上演奏。所以這是一個很好的intro idea。
Hey everyone,
Here's a blues block chord etude using all the diminished concepts I talked about in parts 1-3. See if you can figure out what's going on! I tried to use mostly shapes I talked about in the lessons.
