Like Someone In Love Etude

Like Someone In Love is a great tune to study. Harmonically it does so many things.

For example the first two bars is a 1 to a 6, however, it sticks a dom 3 before the 6 and it sounds cool. I'll do a video on this and talk about cll the cool things. 

I played it on the MalletKat so listen to the audio for pedaling. It's pretty straight forward with pedaling.

🚨 Harmony Without Chords – Pt. 3: Chromatic Approaches with Dominant Alterations

In Part 3, we continue working with chromatic approaches to the 3rds and 7ths of dominant chords, but with an important addition: altered tones introduced in the second bar of each dominant. These alterations create stronger harmonic tension and help pull the line more clearly toward the next chord change.

You Fill In The missing Voicing

Here are three, two five, one progressions. 

Good voice leading for the most part is lazy voice leading. That means: 

  1. you usually won't move the note if it's in the next chord.
  2. you will move whatever voicings have to move but to the closest note in the next chord. 

With that in mind you figure this puzzle out. I'll attach the answers, but don't look until you're tried this out!
