Ed Practicing Solo Vibraphone on Alone Together

Practicing solo vibraphone on Alone Together here at the house this past Sunday afternoon. Here is Take 1 out of three takes. This is a fairly brief two chorus version that includes right hand octaves along with left hand accompaniment and pedal point in the bridge of the 2nd chorus.

Other Takes:

Take 2: This take is a little slower and starts out with more subtlety than Take 1. In this take, I'm experimenting with using a variety of articulations/note lengths as well as executing lines with four mallets.

Mark Carlsen - bass & Ed Saindon - vibes this Sat. 1/11 at Li's, Haverhill MA

Here's a version of All The Things You Are with bassist Mark Carlsen and I. We play a lot of gigs together around Boston. I have to say that duo playing is probably one of my favorite formats. The listening and interaction is so clear and focused. Anyways, if anyone is in the Boston area, we are playing this Saturday, 1/11, at Li's in Haverhill. MA starting at 6:30.

Alfonsina y el Mar (alternate version) - Solo Vibraphone - Ed Saindon

Happy New Year everyone! I became aware of the beautiful composition Alfonsina y el Mar just before the holidays. Here's an alternate version that I had recorded when practicing the song. (I was also testing out an external mic versus the internal mic with the iPhone. This version used the internal mic which wasn't as good.)

For vibists in Italy: I'll be in Italy (Florence, Venice, Verona, Milan) during May 8-16. If anyone would like to set up a lesson/clinic, please send me an email or FB message.
