2025 Weiss Workshop - Class Schedule

Classes will be as follows:

at 2:45 we will do either the rhythm section class or the perc. Which ever one we do first we will do the other one right after.

Oliver Mayman will do the classes on Wednesday, Behn Gillece on Thursday.

Friday the schedule will change a little bit and in the afternoon Chuck Redd will do a workshop. (He's a great 2 mallet vibe player and a GREAT drummer).

Stan Gets - Gary Burton - London School Of Economics

This is a video many of us have probably seen, this version is colorized which is cool.

For me they play one of my most favorite songs 'A Nightingale Sang in Berkeley Square'. Also the third song they play is one of Gary's and I love to see how much the audience loves his playing and the song. I imagine Gary just floored musicians and especially percussionists. No one had played like this in 1966. He was the first. A must watch!

Let's Firm Up Goals for the Weiss Mallet Workshop - 2025

I've said this over and over. I don't know how anyone gets good without goals. Maybe there's a way but I don't think so.
I think not having goals, is like learning how to shoot a bow an arrow with out a target.

Beginners:

Really try to memorize 2 of these 3 tunes at least:

  • Maiden Voyage
  • Little Sunflower
  • Blue Bossa
  • Bags Groove

Intermediate:

Memorize at least one of the beginner tunes and maybe 2 of these:

Musser M75 Century vibraphone for sale

Hi everyone,

I'm selling my Musser M75 Century vibraphone and wanted to share the details here in case anyone in the community is interested—or knows someone who might be.

The instrument is in good working condition, with recently tuned bars, a fully functional motor, and a great sound. It has some cosmetic wear, as expected from a used instrument, but overall it plays really well. I'm including road cases for the frame and resonators (no bar case).
