The screws come out easily enough, but the end caps seem to have been fixed to the shaft. Perhaps first expanded by heating and then cooled to fit. There also seems to be a small pin passing through the end cap. Perhaps I have to knock it through with a drift.

Thanks

Mark,

I assume you have the fans removed from the resonators. There is a very small pin that needs to be punched out. You have to make sure that the pulley and shaft are properly supported or it's likely you will bend the shaft and make it worse!! I use a broken drill bit that is just smaller than the hole, and I hold it with a pair of small pliers and GENTLY tapped it out. A small finishing nail will work as a punch too. But you have to be careful not to bend the shaft and not to mess up the pulley. A few drops of a penetrating oil, something like Break free, PB blaster, or WD-40, motor oil (order of preference) will help the process along.

Finally put a cloth underneath the pulley, those tiny pins are hard to find on a shop floor :)

If the fan or shaft is not bent, there's no real reason to take it apart.
