The least expensive transportation to and from the airport is a shuttle. Use the transportation phones in the baggage claim area to arrange for a shuttle to pick you up. You want to call Delaware Express Shuttle. They accept credit cards. Tell the driver to take you to the Amy E. du Pont Music Building at the University Of Delaware in Newark (Orchard Rd. and Amstel Ave.)

To return to the airport, call the Delaware Express Shuttle (302-454-7800 or 800-648-5466) 24 hours in advance for a reservation.

Amtrak
Amtrak (800-USA- RAIL) has limited service to Newark, DE. The train station is approximately six blocks from the Music Building. All Amtrak trains stop in Wilmington, DE. A taxi from the Wilmington train station to the University costs about $45.00.

Directions from the North
Take I-95 south to exit 1B marked route 896 and Newark. Take 896 (South College Avenue) north through seven traffic lights. After the seventh light at Park Place, continue for three blocks and turn left onto Kent Way at the blinking light. At the end of Kent way, turn right onto Orchard Rd. the Amy E. du Pont Music Building is on your left.

Directions from the South
Take I-95 north to exit 109 marked route 279 towards Newark, DE. Take 279 (Elkton Rd.) north to the tenth traffic light. Turn right onto Amstel Ave. The Amy E. du Pont Music Building is on your right.

Parking
Parking on campus requires a permit or you must pay as you park in our parking garage (Right next to the building) at a rate of $.60 a half hour. Permits for gold lots are $15 for the week but require you to walk a few blocks to our building. Please call 302.831.6683 by August 1 if you would like us to obtain a parking pass for you. If you are residing in a dorm your can leave your car for free for the week. However, you just cannot drive it to the music building and park there for free. It is an easy and pleasant walk from the dorms to the music building

Food
There are many restaurants within walking distance of the music building. A map of restaurants is attached.

Weather
Newark is always warm and humid (75°F to 95°F) in August. However, the buildings are usually kept rather cold. Bring a sweater!
