“Falling Grace” by Steve Swallow. One of the great many compositions written by Steve. This one is like a Berklee standard and is a great song to explore with. I worked on this with Gary way back and 45 years later it’s still fun to play and see where the music takes you. I was looking through my files from when I was studying with Gary. He was a great teacher. Very open, organized and systematic. I uploaded the lead sheet he gave me with the chord scales listed. On the back of the lead sheet he wrote his system of chord scales as applied to improvisation. I uploaded those to google docs.
Second part of the masterclass I did at University of Toronto for the percussion students.
Enjoy!

I wasn't really sure whether or not to post this. It's a very different kind of accountability today, I guess.
I recorded it for my girlfriend who just lost HER best friend - a very dear pet of hers who passed yesterday from liver cancer. Posted it on her FB wall with the lyrics...
"Olhos De Gato” by Carla Bley - one of the first songs I learned with Gary Burton when I was studying with him in the 70s. I was very fortunate to be able to attend Berklee. I started in 72 and Gary had started teaching there the year before.
Endless Island is David Friedman (vibraphone) and Jeremy Friedman (drums/electronics), a father son duo presenting a new turn in progressive electronic jazz, steeped in organic groovescapes and powerful free-form improvisation.
Did I post something like this recently.
I'm so busy I can't remember! But here's another one!
Here's number 24! Let me know what ya'll think!
