Here's a short video of me talking about a few different basic harmonic minor ideas and tonalities. I talk about the scale, go over the chord definitions and chord scales/voicings, and then spend a little time on a short loop play-along that's attached below!

The play-along is really just a ii-V-i loop in C harmonic minor, there are a few passing chords thrown in.

Trying to emulate a stride kind of style. Not 100% happy with it, but I want to steal the ballad staccato stride feel pianists do sometimes.

This is a solo arrangement of I'll Remember of April that I have been working on. I posted it in the group thread, but it kind of got lost in the shuffle, so I am reposting here.

Like a lot of folks on here, I've been working on I'll Remember April. Since Tony has issued his usual challenge, here's a practice tape attempting to blow over the tune in 12 keys. I used the iReal Pro accompaniment to give my brain and hands an occasional chance to breathe.

In an effort to practice soloing over a tune with few chord changes, I limited myself to only certain chord tones every chorus of Impressions until I've added them all.

Rest in peace to one of my earliest and most profound inspirations! I attached a clip of one of my earliest performances on vibes (late high school). I played drums and piano long before this so I had harmonic and rhythmic vocabulary already and stuff, but this was one of my first real performances on the instrument, and I was obsessed with the Chick/Gary duos at the time, so I chose this tune.
