The Collective Unconcious and the Un-structured Improv

When I saw Dana's post of his 'Un-structured improv I thought that's cool. We have a little wave of free improv going.

I posted that electronic stuff and now Dana posted this. Then I thought that would be cool if others just played whatever on their instrument and posted the outcome.

Playing free and using your ears to move the harmony is a great way to grow musically!

So the challenge is to post your own 'Un-structured improv'.

One For the Guys

Ok, so trying to run a site and practice can cause marital problems.

My wife was on my case big time about not doing enough around the house. I don't have time, I said. But she kept the verbal abuse coming. So I bought a Roomba.

As I write this I'm actually cleaning my upstairs. You see I told her I'd take over the vacuuming and she agreed. So I went out and bought a Roomba which is a robot vacuum cleaner. So now I can practice and clean at the same time.

Now she's saying that that doesn't count, but she's not going to win that one!

My Funny Valentine by Dave Kemp (latin arrangement)

Here is a live performance of an arrangement of My Funny Valentine. This was the first tune we played at this gig and we were having all sorts of issues with sound and monitoring levels ...... basically we couldn't hear each other so its pretty loose at first, but thought I'd share it anywyay to give you an idea of the sound of the group and concept of my latin jazz project Latin Vibe. Plus my piano player kept comping all the time even though we worked out to take it in turns !!!

Beautiful Love by Nicolas Farrugia

Hello Vibes Workshop,

Here is one video performance of "Beautiful Love" with my former band "Light Motif" in Grenoble (city in France in the Alps).

Sorry for the bad sound, the talking audience and the "dancing" girl !! :)

Actually I'm new here, and I can't wait until having some "new" video or audio material to post here. This video is one year old...

My recording / filming setup at home is not yet fully operational, but I'm working on it and looking forward to post some new stuff.

Anyway, feedback and critiques are welcome!

Thanks,

Cooking Percussion Geeks - Martin Fabricius's student

Hi all!

At a period when the kitchen will soon be a very important and full room, I found this fun video on Youtube: students of Danish vibist Martin Fabricius playing "Wok Amok", said Martin: "A piece of mine written in 2000 for 2 chefs and 2 helpers".

Martin is not "yet" a member here, but is registered on thevibe.net and studied with Ed Saindon. You can find his details and vids with him on this youtube link, are more on his website: http://www.martinfabricius.eu/index.html

Enjoy!
