Hi all,
I'd like to introduce for those who don't know him Emmanuel Séjourné, a great mallet master here in France.
He's a great pedagogue, composer, player, with appart from mastery, humor and fantasy.
He's playing here a marimba piece with six mallets, a few partners... and fun!
His website: http://www.emmanuelsejourne.com/
Enjoy!

Marco is a great vibes player.
Some time ago, when this place was still at its genesis, I remember Tony wrote this "Music is a language".
Hungarian member Richard Szaniszlo linked this tune today on his FB, and I thought it was a great way to get back to this little phrase... from the Boss of the place, here so well 'illustrated' by a huge language master...
I love the way he speaks through his guitar, really talking to us...
Enjoy!

This is really cool watching Mario build a tune.
We just heard Alice Mc Leod-Coltrane on some of Terry Gibbs special tracks here. I was just wondering... We've heard that she, among piano, harp, organ, also played the vibes... But there are nearly no information on that part of her career. Who said she was great at this instrument too? Bruce was that you?
So I was just wonder, Mr Gibbs, I'm sure you could help us and make her memory live again here... Would you like to share your souvenirs of Alice with us? That would be so great!!

Stéphane was a subscriber online here for a long time. He went on to focus on the hand drums, but he's a really good vibe player. Check him out. We miss him (known as Tifoo on the site)
I've lost a couple gigs recently because they Island I was to go to did not have a set of vibes on it! So I emailed Gary about traveling with a set of vibes. I don't think he'd mind if I posted his response. Sounds like the way to go is with a Traveler set of vibes and cases. Here's his reply:

Hi Tony,
Hey all,
I ran into this clip on YouTube, and thought I should share it.
I love Hamp, but he was not a player I listened to a lot as a student. However, I appreciate him more every day and I found this clip to be awesome. Really in his prime here. Listen to how hard these guys are swinging!

Ok, here's the first 6 mallet guy I've seen playing more like a jazz player and playing some lines. dritske posted a comment with this link. I thought I'd put the vid up here.
