man sometime you just lament about selling any instrument ... years ago i bought my first vibraphone which was in 1987. a new musser m 48 .. serial number was 153.. wow .. when i was on tour with 3 leg torso out of portland in 2004 the bar were stolen. we contacted musser at the time and they could no replace or allow me order a set of bars for that instrument. so we sold the frame and shortly after i moved from portland and took time off from the industry ..
This clip is from a gig last January playing Ted's composition Ida Spoons which is based on Stella. The cameraman missed the head and part of Ted's solo which is a shame. Ted is composer/saxophonist with Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra directed by Wynton Marsalis....and plays his rear off! What a pleasure this night was.

My First Jazz Gig
So...I don't usually write blog entries, but I figured I'd share some insight from my first-ever jazz gig in the community last week. I know some of you are old pros at gigging, but for those who aren't, here is one example of what it might be like. Of course every gig is different, so remember this is just one experience. Hopefully there are more to come!
French vibist Franck Tortiller is to launch in November a tribute album to Janis Joplin. Here is a excerpt... with Monsieur Jacques Mahieux on vocals! Enjoy!
Oh man... Arturo just sent me this... I realised how I think people too often play this tune a bit too fast for my taste... It's so beautiful as a balad. And indeed Arturo and his compañero (Jose Carra) made it soooo beautiful. Thanks Arturo!
Greetings everyone. Can folks on the forum recommend any tasty published jazz music arranged for vibes (i.e. either solo, duet, or small group)? I'm working hard at learning to voice my own 4-mallet chords, but in the meantime I really enjoy playing good arrangements.
Thanks in advance for your suggestions! Maybe there is already some good lists of published vibe music on this forum?

Greetings everyone,
There are a few notes on my Musser M55 that decay relatively faster than the rest of the bars. Is this something that can be altered through tuning?
Thanks!
