Hi Folks:

My band, Nós Novo, is doing our 2nd Annual Very Special Xmas Special tonight at Cornelia Street Cafe at 9pm. One long set of jigs, reels, old songs, and a few carols, woven into our repertoire and sounding like us. $10 cover for one long set... should be great fun.

It's that time of year again; a time for the endlessly curious combination of ancient ritual and online shopping; cloves and cinnamon wafting through Walmart, trees brought inside and dressed up, Lady Gaga singing about the infant christ on tv.

Here's a track off my 2010 release"Botanic." This is an original tune entitled "Vestibule."

Made a slide show video with some photos from over the time the album was created.

Walked by a nice piano today. Had to play it.

A small taster of our performance at the Royal Irish Academy of Music in Dublin recently. Piano is a bit low as it was not mic'd but sound is ok. Enjoy

I would like to inform you that I am going to perform this thursday (6/12/2012) on a place called Grand Café EDD's (heggenstraat 3, 6211 GW Maastricht, Netherlands) and it's located in Maastricht (Netherlands). I am going to play with wonderfull musicians and some of my original compositions and then it will be a jam session. So, if you are a musician (not only vibraphone player!!!!!) come and join us!

Hey vibesworkshop!

So...I haven't been getting very far with my transcription of Afro Blue because I don't have a vibraphone to play for ten days and haven't had anything to update my blog with. It's frustrating not having my instrument...I feel incomplete. I am grateful to have access to a piano at work though and have been staying late to play (and then freezing in the dark waiting for the late bus home each night!), but man I miss my vibes. Just ten days, and I'm going crazy!!!

Playing in a quintet with a piano player. I know it's kind of tough to stay out of each others way when comping, any tips? Thanks for all the help!

My student Sangwon is doing a paper comparing Milt to Gary and he's starting off with the history of the vibraphone.

I know there's stuff up here about the history. Anyone know where some is? Anyone know of any other links?
