Is this a Musser?

Someone several years back sent me a photo of there vibes. They were in the middle of the jungle of Ghana. The nearest anything was 50 miles. OMG! I couldn't believe that.

I imagine there are vibes in some pretty strange places.

Well, I've known John Piper for a while now. And he's a real character who does crazy things. He learned firefighting a while back is probably the only firefighting vibe player in the world. Hmm, I wonder.

Check this out. Since John is hanging around on the site I thought I'd post this.

John is a musical master technician on the instrument. He really does a good job of using technique in a musical way.

I don't know if he thinks this way, but I always thought of him as a concert vibraphonist.

I like listening to him a lot.

Good Vibes enters its 8th year with the May show. And I was told it probably wouldn't last six months. Thank you, musicians! Thank you, listeners! Thank you, WWFM and NPR!
As I typically do with every anniversary show, I play favorites from the past year. Since I can only pick 18-20 tunes out of approximately 110 from the previous 11 months, it's not easy. And this year it came out to only 18 because of song lengths.

Something cool and interesting about Walt. I'm having an email discussion with VW member John Keene and we are talking about a few different vibe players.

I listen to there lines and listen to how clear they are. Right? What's the sound? Are they playing the sound. I listen for that. Probably because I'm worried about it when I play. Am I listening to the band? Am I capturing the sound.

The "vinyl" I had of double Image was worn out in a week! Beautiful music!

They have a jazz series named Jocko's Jazz that has been going on every Tuesday night for many years. Great appreciation to Jocko Arcidiacono for supporting jazz and jazz musicians for so many years in this area. Thanks also to Jocko's wife Anne and to Dick for taping the proceedings. Such a great audience. They listen and really appreciate the music. Lastly, thanks to the great pianist Tim Ray. It was such a treat for me.
