Our discussion of cord for vibes started to branch off in soft vs. hard mallets.
So I thought I'd open a discussion on that :-).
I don't want to say too much about it but I'll start off with this.

Great standard written in 1947 with lyrics by Sammy Cahn and music by Jule Styne. Many great versions of this song by vocalists and instrumentalists. Two of my favorite are from Chet Baker and Keith Jarrett.

I hear some stuff similar to Walt Dickerson. I mean the out playing. The instrument does lend itself to playing a lot of crazy notes. I think when musical players do this it's great.
That's me bringing the vibes to the people at my wedding over the weekend. I did a little version of Stevie Wonder's "You and I" before the first dance. She let me buy a second instrument (M75) last year, so I think she's a keeper!

I'm just not understanding what she does. Listen to the last note of the piece. She's early. Is the conductor supposed to follow her? Does she hear the band? Or feel the vibrations? Was this just a mistake?
