I was surprised that more vibes players don't know about this excellent Charlie Hunter album from 1998 called Return of the Candyman. It's a trio date with Stefon Harris on vibes, drums, and Charlie playing his 8-string guitar/bass instrument. I haven't heard everything Stefon has recorded, but so far I find this to be the funkiest.
This is their version of the Steve Miller Band hit "Fly Like An Eagle."
"When You Wish Upon A Star" - solo vibraphone performance from concert at the Theatre de la Licorne in Cannes, France - October 8th, 2017. Special thanks to Andres Ramos (Professor and Head of Percussion - Cannes Conservatoire), Bergerault, Vic Firth, the city of Cannes and the Conservatory of Grasse.
"Sweet Lorraine" - an old classic composed in 1928. One of my favorite rendition is from legendary pianist Art Tatum.
It's a mallet instrument and all these old(er) people got together to make a group. I think it's pretty cool.
There are a lot of older people on the site who picked up the vibes later in life. That's amazing to me. There is one guy, Roger who lives in central PA, he works more than I do now.
One of the most beautiful french song. Listen !
Beautiful ballad written in 1940 by Rodgers and Hart. Some chord progression changes from Miles Davis and Keith Jarrett.

A beautiful song my pianist Keith Jarrett. I remember seeing him do this and "Country" live on SNL in the 70s. It was incredible. His album with his European band playing this is also fantastic.
