Hey Tony this is really a GREAT lesson you did here. Thanks a lot for sharing this. This approach really speaks to me, makes a lot of sense and means a lot. I used to try some similar approach when doing free pieces or when composing.
But I love really love the way you put this into perspective for improvising and reharm.

The master has spoken. That was a great lesson. I can see it being really helpful for intros and endings as well as many other things.

Ok here's the deal, let's get 4 improvs based on this lesson up here. then let's vote on the best one! I'll give away a set of Balter 62rs.

So here's the deal:

We need 4 versions of this lesson. Let's say at least a 2 minute improv.
Has to be uploaded by December 10th. Then we'll vote
Has to be solo and based on this lesson.
Your submission has to be posted in the comments on this page.

(Marie did I forget anything? Please add!)

Of course he's nuts! Didn't you know that?... ;-)

Hmm... Maybe we could add a little something to the conditions:
* If ever you have an old messing around recording with, by total luck, this kind of exercice, forget about it: we will know it!
* Of course Joe Porter may post to let us enjoy and benefit from his hard work, talent and fun, but he shall not win any stick! ;-)

Go guys!!

that sounds good! something about common ground to bring it all together, huh?

there's another level to all this with harmony, that i'm messing around with, but i think others like friedman have worked on for a LONG time.

i'd love for david to do piece like this! i think there's already one up here on the site from the workshop. you were there right?
