Here is a live performance of an arrangement of My Funny Valentine. This was the first tune we played at this gig and we were having all sorts of issues with sound and monitoring levels ...... basically we couldn't hear each other so its pretty loose at first, but thought I'd share it anywyay to give you an idea of the sound of the group and concept of my latin jazz project Latin Vibe. Plus my piano player kept comping all the time even though we worked out to take it in turns !!!

PS: Man I love it all, the expressions, the parodic details, choice of characters and words, and when they sing out of tune they are so funny!!

Oh man… It finally happened: no more need to practice, any technique, in any key. No more pain in wristles, or bleeding fingers. No more white nights in your basement...

You can all sleep in peace: here is the real future of all percussionists… :o)

Emilie just posted this vid on myspace. The sound of recording is not perfect, but... wow, I love her playing and dedication! And she's just not even 22!

When Gary told us about his childhood, we had a little talk about tap dancing.

Having a look on Joe Locke's agenda, I saw that he will be performing at Jazz Baltica (Germany) in July, with young tap dancer Maurice Chestnut and a few other percussionists. The title of the performance is : "Percussion Discussion".

Whao!! I'd love to be a little mouse and attend!… But who knows, maybe there will be some video on Youtube…

After watching Hamp and Benny Goodman, I can’t resist sharing that link I incredibly dig! It’s from the same period, an extract from Singing in the Rain… Surely most of you have seen it already. You may like to past the first minute, but the rest is incredible!

It has the same kind of thrill, blowing away talent, and swing (even if with big band this time). It’s not vibraphone, but so much good vibes!!! And man those giant dancers are unbelievable percussionists with their feet!! Aren't they?

Harry, I'm sorry but this is not something that can be just kept in an emailbox... well not in mine!!! :o)

His solo is quite short, but God that whole tune is incredible!!
