Triad Pairs are a cool notion. After this lesson you can probably make up your own.

WHOOOPS! IN THE BEGINNING OF THIS I SAY CMAJ AND CMIN I MEAN C MAJ AND DMIN.

ALSO SEE THE ATTACHED FILE BELOW FOR A QUICK LOOK AT TRIAD PAIRS.

Remember take any chord, then check out the scale and find two triads.
Next: Does is sound good?
Next: Can you play a drone on a synth of the Root?

For example:

Cmaj chord: Cmaj6 Cmaj7 what ever.
The scale: Ionian
Two chords that sound good as triad pairs. Cmaj and Dmin
Get a drone happening or go back and forth on the vibes player the bass note and then the triad pairs.

i think one of the first places most people his is recent history. but you might also want to check out the what's new section on the front page. for some reason when i postpone a lesson, that is give it a later date to publish it doesn't show up on the recent history page. but it's up on the what's new section.

just an FYI

I just arrived here from the new lesson front page link (as you said), thinking it will be theorical.
I was wrong, that is a super cool easy comping trick, kinda gospel... Thanks !
and mainly because you make it sound so musical.

This is a cool, happy sound. Reminds me of the old Partridge Family TV series theme song.

Nice bite-sized lesson. I like it a lot.

Thanks!
Barry

more on triad pairs. learn them!!!! learn the philosophy behind them. it's a sort of pentatonic thing right? since it's two trains! 6 notes!
