I go to a high school where during each of your three underclassman years you do a one week internship in whatever you want. Anyone have any good vibe related ideas/leads? Anything in performance or craftsmanship would be really cool. I…
Hi,
I'm trying to upload a video, but it says that the size limit is 1MB. Is that true? You can't get much video in 1MB!
I'm trying to upload directly here -- I just want this to be available to VW'ers, not the general public -- so…
I enjoy playing "Watch What Happens" by Michel Legrand, on piano and wanted to do an arrangement on vibes. BIAB Real Tracks in background.
Enjoy.

If you can deal with my singing, (it sucks) then check this lesson out on intervals. If you are having trouble hearing intervals then this way of practicing them might help you.
I always say if you're going to play this instrument, it's…
Hi all!
I'm sitting at home grounded with a bad cold so I got more time than usual to post here.
Someone at TheVibe.net reported that he recently acquied a 4-octave DeMorrow vibraphone - is there anyone familiar with this brand? Any…
I happened upon this clip on YouTube from 1998. It features vibes/percussion master Emil Richards, Joe Porcaro on drums and a young conguero, Cosimo Lampis. This is from a master class in Sardinia (wherever that is!). I think this is one…
I talk more about using modes and create 'sub chords' from them.
I also go off on Solar at the end to show you places that I get with this way of playing.
I love moving the scale around and deriving chords from the scale not just the…
I cannot begin to say who I am without saying where I am from, where I grew up, and what kind of no-background I had. I was born Dec. 1941 in a place called Quimper, in that part of France known as Brittany, the bit that sticks out into…
Saw Joe Locke last night with Tony and chris dingman was there, also christos was there too!
It was a great show! The thing that I love about every time I see Joe Locke perform is his ability to draw you into his world and make you feel…
Had a nice gig last night and was driving home listening to Billy Pierce and thinking about food. I was coming to a red light slowing down and this guy nailed me in the back. I jumped out of my car and saw him trying to start his car. He…
As I've mentioned many times one of my perks for running this site is getting to meet and talk with my idols. Terry is one of them, and we've had a couple long phone calls talking about all sorts of things.
In addition he sent some great…
This is a tune I wrote and recorded a couple of years ago. I was thinking about it this morning and decided to post it. Listening to it now, there are of course things I would play differently but oh well. Thanks for listening!
Ok in the spirit of sharing and being an open community I thought I would share with you guys a new song I'm writing for my new album that I'll be recording in February. The song is not finished by any means but you can hear this early…
ok, so i just read where Tony says "i still don't understand why more players are not blogging here, posting examples of things they're working on. i'm clueless." so...I'm not shy, here's what i'm working on.
about a month ago, i…
We've restored and upgraded a great sounding M55 by among others putting it on our LW frame.
I hate to say, but this instrument turned out a killer instrument.
So much that we've decided to make this frame a standard M55 frame.
