first of all, i can´t say enough thankyous to nico and tony for such a great weekend. the workshop for me was more then great and bet it was for everyone who was involved.
OK, this is the morning after the incredible hectic workshop weekend.
Got out of bed 3.30 this morning as I promissed Tony and Sharon to get them to the Airport. After that back to sleep for a few hours and then off to the factory.
We're taking an easy day today, first cleaning up the shop after the weekends' hurricane ;-) that went thru and putting everything back on its place.
Finally an occasion to start blogging.
Tomorrow I think end of the day Tony is arriving here, of who I'm excited to meet in person.
I'm actually excited for Thursday and to go to Nico's toy shop. A buddy or mine was in New York recently and was at a studio. He emailed me and said he played this instrument and it was so beautiful. It was a VP. He said he was mesmerized by the bars.
Students talk about and show their progress in only a 2 day workshop. John Daly and Stefan both made amazing progress.
Guys!
I just had Tony on the phone, "jailed" by his layover at the Paris CDG airport! He’s waiting for his next plane to Ireland for his first workshop… He sounded great!
When he called I had just started that post to tell you this: don’t you think because he is away, the site is on holiday. Dana and him worked hard to let subscribers have some lessons during that time.
Bars, resonators and their tuning.
Base of the vibes' sound ofcourse are the bars, and in a huge amount the (tuning of) the resonators.
I'll try to explain in the next article how to tune the bars, how to tune the resonators, and how to get the best benefit from the resonators.
Bars.
It is widely know that vibe bars have their fundamental tuned, and the first overtone to a double octave.
