I'd like to see more participation by members too. It's so fun to bring a society of vibraphonists together. I live in Texas and I don't travel much anymore so I don't see a lot of vibe players (though there are some very good ones here) but none of my neighbors and most of my friends don't even know what it is or how to pronounce it. I'm sure that many reading this are in that same dilemma. Keep in mind that it's very healthy for each of us to have some socializing with people who understand the value of the art and support each other during the struggle. This helps maintain a feeling of purpose and offers energy for doing it.
There may be some people reluctant to putting their stuff up for fear of public scrutiny. They may be saying to themselves; "I'm not good enough" or "I'm not ready" or "If I put stuff up now, I will be known as the player I am instead of what I want to become". This is all bunk in my opinion. The sooner you put it out there, the sooner you'll be the player you want to become. It takes guts at first but then, it's fine. So, I encourage everyone at all levels to participate actively and let us all hear your music. Be brave. WE ALL NEED IT!

I totally agree!
Hi John,
I totally agree about this. I've talked about this with Tony many times. Also I'm learning a lot and I feel that it really is encouraging to get feedback on what you are doing. Especially when there are a lot of good vibe players here.
It's a really valuable thing what we are doing here and everyone should understand that no matter what level yiu are at, posting stuff here will get you to that next step.
I'll be posting a version of You and The Night and the Music this week. And I hope people here will join in with posting their stuff.
Thanks TJaco!

I look very forward to hearing it! I'll do the same as soon as I get my gear set up to record again.
